Work of Art

Jack Vettriano Gin has been launched by Commercial Spirits with a limited edition bottling of a premium London Dry Gin, distilled at 44% abv for Britain’s best selling artist in conjuction with the UK’s premium retailer Harvey Nichols.

Four of Jack Vettriano’s iconic paintings were paired with the delicious, award winning Gin with only 100 bottles of each of the four paintings featured in the collection including the famous Singing Butler, Billy Boys, A kind of loving & Along came a spider. A Number of these were exclusively and personally signed by Jack Vettriano in this ultra rare digitally numbered release.

These premium labels demanded to be produced as close as possible to the original painting’s, which are a rather beautiful oil on canvas. Amberley achieved this effect with the combination of material choice, Martele blanc from Avery Dennison with its subtle texture and the exacting photographic quality of the HP Indigo press.

The limited editions were sequentially numbered to indicate the rarity of the product and promote the exclusivity of the bottles. Several ultra rare editions were individually signed by the illustrious artist Jack Vettriano.

Commercial Spirits has a team of creative designers who specialise in concept creation and alcohol packaging, who can turn those concepts in to a tangible product and direct relationships with retail buyers and distributors who help us get the product to the forefront of the target market.

Jack Vettriano Publishing have raised over £10,000 for charitable causes through this project by donating the first bottles, as well as four one-off signed and dedicated Gicleé prints.

Clear Perfection with ‘no label look’

Shorts Boy Distillery has produced a truly inspirational rum. Tidal Rum is a golden aged rum infused with oak smoked pepper dulse foraged at low tide in Jersey (UK).

The main label was printed using a clear on clear substrate, giving the appearance of being invisible when adhered to the clear glass bottle to deceive the eye and highlight the actual design elements, which were produced on the digital press. Then a gloss varnish was applied to finish creating a premium look and feel for the finished product as you can see in the images below.

“Here at Amberley we were delighted to be able to take on the project to produce this innovative magazine cover. The combination of HP silver, fluorescent and invisible inks, together with variable data, really showcases the capability of the HP Indigo WS print presses when great design and the very best operational capability come together. Burning Barn rum label embellishment

Burning Barn rum labels have been designed by Green Chameleon, with the whole theme conceived from the company owner’s family barn being burnt down! The branding and packaging captures the smoking barn with an eye catching logo of the titular barn set ablaze.

Each label achieved a bold look by using an uncoated matt black paper stock for the bottle and a natural 100% cotton paper with ultra wet strength and anti fungal treatment for the batch label giving both a tactile feel. Through combining these paper stocks with embossed matte foils and metallic inks, Amberley Labels printed and produced a great contrasting label.

The gold embossed foil displays hints of copper, yellow and orange which are colours we associate with fire and spice, highlighted to complement the ‘forged from fire’ spiced rum label. The silver ink in turn added tones of blue, purple and greys that reflected the smoking barn imagery for the smoked rum label.

Here at Amberley Labels we are proud to have been part of this premium packaging project, delivering expectations for this quality brand and product.
