Amberley and Printpack Enterprises have scooped a prestigious award at the 2013 UK Packaging Awards for their role in Coca-Cola’s “Share a Coke” campaign.
The Label of the Year Award was collected on behalf of Amberley by Trevor Smith, Managing Director, at the ceremony held at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
The ground breaking campaign featured the personalised digital printing of 150 names on hundreds of millions of filmic wraparound labels for Coca Cola’s largest ever global promotion.
Coca-Cola’s “Share a Coke” campaign was heralded as a deserved winner in this category with judges purring over the “amazing” campaign.
The labels which were applied on 500ml and 375ml bottles were printed in two stages, firstly conventionally, then digitally to allow the printing of variable names.
Trevor commented, “We are delighted to receive this award. This was a demanding project involving Coca-Cola marketing departments in more than 30 European countries and conventional and digital printers working together to create a label which extends digital personalisation into the mass market.”
