CASE STUDY 3

Clawson - Cheese Label Range

Background
John Green (ISP) made contact with Amberley regarding an opportunity to help develop the Clawson cheese label range.

The challenge for Amberley was to design a process that would give excellent results in terms of the quality of the labels but also to find a method of manufacturing a series of labels which would suit the current label applicator. This specifically required a registration on the rear of the material carrier that could be picked up by the applicator sensor and the label also needed to be printed in a two label combination, one orientation normal and the second reversed.

Amberley opted for the digital printing process as this was more than capable of achieving the excellent quality of print required by the customer. This process also enabled us to maintain excellent printing capability for the fine graphical detail included in the design as well as giving us the manufacturing capability to handle both the reverse applicator registration mark and the two label combination.

Customer Feedback
"Amberley have helped us develop an alternative method of producing this range of labels. They are difficult to print consistently and with Amberley able to offer the digital printing option I feel they have a tremendous opportunity to provide a quality finish to the product."
