'State of the Art' Digital Label Printing

Digital Process

Digital printing is not a new technology. It has been used, particularly in the commercial print world for many years. However the use of digital printing as an industrial process for printing reel to reel labels is a more recent development. Amberley were early to recognise this exciting technology, installing the very first HP Indigo WS4000 in the UK in 2003.

Now a more mature technology the key benefits are well established. The process allows for the production of extremely high quality self adhesive labels in low to medium volumes. It offers great colour consistency, very flexible repeat ordering, no plate or film costs, rapid response to legislative change and marketing needs at very low changeover costs. Future advances promise online ordering direct into the press workflow and real time information about order progress.

Digital technology and press speeds are advancing at an ever increasing rate and more and more clients are seeing the real benefits that it can afford. Our new HP Indigo WS6000 is the most advanced digital press in the World and with the capability to print full colour at over 30 linear meters per minute it brings the benefits of digital to a wider range of clients and to a much higher run size.

The key benefits
• No film or plate costs
• What you see is what you get proofs
• Flexible re-ordering and batching of variants
• Extremely high quality that is consistently repeatable
• The ability to respond quickly to legislative changes and marketing demands with low changeover costs

HP & Amberley

Shaping the future with HP Support and Guidance
As one of the key digital printers in the UK, Amberley have gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge in printing digital labels. At the beginning of 2005, HP invited Amberley to join its global advisory council. This consists of a group of label printers from across the world meeting twice a year with the HP product, marketing and sales teams to help guide HP on how to shape the future of its digital processes.

This not only supports HP who gain a vast amount of feedback from a large range of digital users but it has given Amberley a window into the future of digital.
